01What temperature should a commercial fridge be?
In England, Wales and Northern Ireland chilled food must legally be kept at 8°C or below, and most kitchens aim for 5°C or below for a safety margin. Scotland expects chilled food to be kept cold, usually 5°C or below. Freezers should be at -18°C or colder.
02How often should I record temperatures?
Many businesses check at least twice a day, at opening and closing. Follow your own food safety plan.
03What should I do if a fridge is too warm?
Move the food to a working unit, decide whether it is still safe (or throw it away), tell your manager and get the fridge repaired. Write what you did in the notes.
04Is it free?
Yes. Fill it in online and download it as a PDF, Excel or PNG, 3 reports a day, with no sign-up, and you can add your logo. Pro adds photos, your signature, premium designs and unlimited reports.
